text 2 Feb going to the movies

oh sh*t, i totally forgot crazy heart. three down!

basilone:

i was intrigued to see how many i had seen in the theater this year and the answer is … 43!  which i think is pretty good considering ,I more often then not, don’t have the free movie hook up.  So i will join you in your quest, Mr. Flannigan.  52 movies in twenty dime.  Aaaannd considering that there were at least 2 or 3 movies that weren’t on the box office mojo list—Crazy Heart for one— that I also saw in the theater, the task should be pretty doable.

which means, if my actual number is closer to 46-48, i  only have 4-6 more movies to see this year to hit the 52 mark.  I think with your help briff, i can easily achieve it.  i mean i already got When In Rome out of the way, so it’s all down hill from here.

(ps- my total for 2008 was 48.  looks like i slacked off a little bit in ‘09)

so of the 10 movies nominated for best picture, i’ve seen nine of them. nine! i never do this well, this early. thanks to the highly commercialized picks, i only need to see precious. and i don’t even know if i want to see it, i just know that i will see it.

so that will be 10 for 10. which got me thinking…how many movies have i seen in theatres this past year? well, i clicked through box office mojo’s top 150 grossers of 2009 and i’ve seen 40 of those films in theatres. not bad, right? i was curious, and i went back to 2008…but i only viewed 34 of the top 150 in theatres.

with that, i’ve decided to hit 52 movies seen in theatres this year. one a week. i’m well on my way, with book of eli and legion under my belt (LEGION! see what i do for a quest? my god, that movie was terrible!). this week is going to be when in romeedge of darkness and hopefully the white ribbon (though it might qualify as 2009. sh*t).

i should note that i see movies for free, so this isn’t expensive in the least. just time consuming. usually in a good way, but sometimes in a legion way. if you ever want to see a free movie, let me know. igotthesweethookup.
